Bachir Halimi was born in 1956 in M'daourouch (Souk Ahras province, Algeria). His academic journey began in his native region, with primary education in Souk Ahras, followed by secondary studies at the prestigious Saint-Augustine High School in Annaba. In 1975, thanks to a five-year scholarship from Sonatrach, he pursued his university studies at the University of British Columbia in Canada, marking the beginning of a brilliant international career.

  • Development of a revolutionary algorithm enabling the use of Arabic and non-Latin characters on computers
