Origins & Training

Farid Meziane was born in 1963. He completed his secondary education at Akbou High School, located in the Bejaia Province. After obtaining his baccalaureate, he joined the Center for Education and Research in Computer Science (CERI) in Algiers at Oued Smar, where he studied computer science between 1982 and 1987. He graduated with a State Engineering degree in Computer Science in 1987. Pursuing his academic ambition, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Salford. His thesis focused on natural language processing and information systems.

Scientific Career

Currently, Farid Meziane is a Professor at the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. He directs the Data Science Research Centre, a research center dedicated to developing innovative solutions in data science and artificial intelligence. As part of his academic activities, he teaches the natural language processing module in the Master's program in Big Data Analytics. He also supervises undergraduate final-year projects and master's dissertations, contributing his expertise to the training of future generations of researchers and experts in data science.
