Born in 1970 in Setif (Algeria), Saad Mekhilef received his B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Setif in 1995. He then pursued his higher education at the University of Malaya, where he obtained his Master of Engineering Science in 1998, followed by his PhD in 2003.
